California Prop 65 (also known as Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) is a California law that requires a “clear and reasonable warning” to consumers for products that contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
We recently added the Prop 65 sticker to any products that require it based on California law whether they are shipping to, or outside of California for transparency.
The chemicals in the supplements that appear on the Prop 65 list are not intentionally added. In most cases, they are picked up from the soil, air, and water in which the plants are cultivated.
Lead contamination in our environment is prevalent in the soil, water, and air which can all transfer tiny trace amounts of lead to the growing plants.
Even when a chemical on the California Prop 65 list has not been shown to cause cancer or reproductive harm in humans, but has been shown in limited animal testing, the chemical is now required to be added to the California Prop 65 list.

The FDA’s stance is that it’s not possible to remove or completely prevent lead from entering the food supply. The FDA, therefore, seeks to limit consumer exposure to lead in foods to the greatest extent feasible. When a manufacturer includes a Prop 65 warning notice on a product, it does not mean the product is unsafe.
The purpose of Prop 65 is to inform consumers of potential risks and allow them to make an informed decision regarding the products they use. We are providing this information to aid you in understanding the issue as required by California law.
